Welcome to 3rd Grade at Las Brisas!!
My name is Heather Dymond. My maiden name is Farrier. I have been teaching in the 金多宝心水论坛 since 1986, and have lived in the district since 1973. I grew up just down the street from Las Brisas. I have enjoyed watching the community grow over the years and am proud to be part of Deer Valley history. In 1986, I was very lucky to do my student teaching at Sunrise Elementary, and complete a long-term sub position the following year. In the fall of 1987, I was blessed with teaching second grade at New River Elementary for seven years. As the district continued to grow, in 1993 I decided to follow the Sheltons and moved to Las Brisas to teach second grade. It is here where I have taught second, third, and fourth grade students. It is here where I will stay until they tell me otherwise.
I attended NAU in 1982 to earn my bachelor's degree, graduating in 1986. I also went through a grad program through Northern Arizona University in the Valley to get a master's degree in Educational Leadership in 2006. Since then, I have taken classes in technology, received my Gifted Endorsement and taught gifted students. I have also been part of the District’s Fourth Grade Science Curriculum Committee. I love learning and teaching.
In 1990, I married my college crush, Tom Dymond. We have two grown children, Tori and Tommy. They are both former Las Brisas students and O'Connor Graduates. I am proud to say Tori is a teacher in the Dysart School District and Tommy has taken on the trade as a sheet metal fabricator for Ron Brocks Air Conditioning. Life does get easier when your children get full-time jobs with benefits.
I am quite a simple person, as you can tell from my webpages and bulletin boards. I reside in a home that was built in 1979 just down the street from Las Brisas, across the street from my mom and dad. I enjoy yard work and relaxing outdoors, either here during the fall, winter, and spring, or up north at Mormon Lake during the summer. For exercise, I am crazy about Jazzercise, and since COVID I am using the APP more than ever.
Presently, I am enjoying learning more about STEM and PBL strategies for engaging ALL learners. On my summer breaks I continue learning, teaching, and traveling the less traveled roads.
