    Specialized Curriculum
All students in kindergarten through eighth grade receive arts instruction integrated with the academics program to learn math, science, reading, and writing, social studies, and the full range of 21st Century Skills in the classroom. Students are also exposed to art, music, band, movement, drama, and stagecraft.

    Art
Terramar offers Discipline Based Art Education. The DBAE approach to curriculum combines experiences from four disciplines in the study of art: production, criticism, history and aesthetics.  These disciplines are merged, rather than taught separately.  Students’ abilities are developed to make art (art production); analyze, interpret, and evaluate qualities of visual arts (art criticism); know and understand art’s role in society (art history); and understand the unique nature and qualities of art and how people make judgments about it (aesthetics). Through art production, students are exposed to a wide variety of media, techniques, and processes. Students K-8 have the opportunity to express themselves through drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics and more.  Many projects are integrated with other subject areas to deepen understanding and enhance learning.

    Band

    Choir
Terrmar Choir is a place to find enjoyment and fulfillment in  making beautiful music.  Students who participate in choir attend 金多宝心水论坛 fall and spring choral festivals, district honor choir, AMEA Solo and Ensemble Festival  and All State Festival.  They also perform three concerts each school year and  perform in an annual school musical. In addition, Terramar Choirs attend a production at the Arizona Broadway Theater and a community service field trip to local retirement centers.

    Music
The Orff Method is a way of teaching children about music that engages their mind and body through a mixture of singing, movement, acting and the use of percussion instruments (i.e. xylophones, metallophones, glockenspiels). Lessons are presented with an element of "play" helping the children learn at their own level of understanding.

Kodaly philosophy states that music education is most effective when started early and that everyone is capable of musical literacy. Singing is stressed as the foundation for musicianship and the use of folk and composed music of high artistic value.
