Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Randolph

Welcome,

I teach mathematics and engineering here at Mountain Ridge High School. This will be my 13th year teaching.  I received my undergraduate degree in Engineering at the University of Illinois. I have a Master’s degree in Education from Arizona State University. This is my seventh year with the Mountain Ridge staff.  I previously taught engineering and mathematics at Shadow Ridge High in the Dysart Unified School District.

My professional background:

I am a licensed professional engineer. I practiced Civil Engineering in both the Chicago and Phoenix metropolitan areas for over 14 years. My projects included many residential subdivisions and commercial properties.

SkillsUSA:

My students and I have participated in the SkillsUSA Competitions at both the state and national levels. We competed in areas including mobile robotics, engineering technologies, and engineering mathematics. In previous years we have placed second in Engineering Mathematics, second in Engineering Technologies, and first and second in Mobile Robotics in the state of Arizona. I will be helping with the engineering club at Mountain Ridge.

Hobbies:

In general, I like anything outdoors (swimming, biking). I am an avid runner. I have run 7 half-marathons and 1 full marathon.  My favorite type of running is trail running. I have run 4 Aravipia trail runs at McDowell Mt. Regional Reserve including a couple of night runs.   My family and I go camping throughout the year.  Fun Fact, our family has been to 11 National Parks.  We have hiked Angels Landing in Zion National Park, climbed Half Dome in Yosemite, and stayed at Phamtom Ranch in the Grand Canyon, and skied in Breckenridge, Colorado.  I have my Scuba certificate.
