2020 Healthy Arizona Worksite Program Platinum Award
SDOHS received the Platinum Healthy Arizona Worksite Award from the Maricopa County Health Department. The Platinum Award is awarded to businesses making an impact both within and beyond their walls addressing one or more of the many health challenges impacting communities across the state. Platinum level awardees have demonstrated data driven programming and are leveraging cross-sector collaborations or partnerships improving the health, well-being and equity of their community. SDOHS is the only high school in Arizona to achieve the Platinum Award (highest award level possible). -
2020 Healthy School of Distinction Sapphire Award
SDOHS achieved The Sapphire Level Award by CPC. The Sapphire Award is the highest award that can be achieved and is awarded to schools who completed six or more modules of the Ultimate Guide to Healthy School Design and Implementation. Sapphire level awardees demonstrate programming that follow the CDC's Whole School, Whole Child, Whole Community (WSCC) Model. -
2019 A + School of Excellence
SDOHS achieved the A+ School of Excellence award. The award is a comprehensive school assessment program that challenges school teams to work together to identify areas of excellence in teaching, learning, climate, community building, and leadership. A+ Schools are celebrated and recognized as outstanding. Earning the highly prestigious A+ designation spotlights the positive successes happening in public schools every day. -
2019 Shark Tank Healthy School Winner
SDOHS S.W.A.T. pitched the mindfulness room to the Shark Tank Design Challenge by AdCap/GenYouth and won a grant to pay for the mindfulness room that thousands of student have utilized to date as part of their social & emotional climate options at SDOHS. -
2019 Healthy School of Distinction Pledge of Excellence
SDOHS achieved The Pledge of Excellence Award by CPC. The Pledge of Excellence Award is the first phase that can be achieved in reaching higher healthy school goals and is awarded to schools who begin their journey in the Ultimate Guide to Healthy School Design and Implementation. Pledge of Excellence level awardees demonstrate foundational programming that follow the CDC's Whole School, Whole Child, Whole Community (WSCC) Model.
